TBILISI(BPI)- Natia Turnava, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, has made a change in the gas balance approved in 2020. According to the updated version of the document, the forecast volume of gas supply in Georgia amounts to 2,562 billion cubic meters.
Georgia will import 2.338 billion cubic meters, or 91.2 percent of the total imports from Azerbaijan, including 1.453 billion cubic meters from SOCAR and 884.298 million cubic meters from Shah Deniz field.
200 million cubic meters of gas is set to be imported from Russia (7.8 percent), while the projected local extraction will total 11,223 million cubic meters (0.4 percent).
As for consumption, in 2020 the projected volume of social gas amounts to 1.679 billion cubic meters, including consumer consumption of 1.088 billion cubic meters and thermal power plants – 590.703 million cubic meters.
At the same time, according to the document, the projected consumption of the commercial sector is 853,036 million cubic meters, and the gas loss is expected to make 30,200 million cubic meters.
