300 tons of raw pine cones will be exported from Georgia to the European market

TBILISI(BPI)- About 300 tons of raw cones will be exported from Georgia to the European market this year.

Pine cones harvesting in Racha has been completed. This year’s harvest is of a particularly high quality that positively affects  its export potential and cost.

45 million fir  trees are sold from Georgia to Europe annually. 90% of the trees grow from Caucasian Sochi seeds taken from Racha. The main exporting countries are Germany, the Netherlands, France and the United Kingdom.

It’s worth mentioning that the European market shows  interest not only in the purchase of rooted seedlings and planted and cut trees.
