TBILISI(BPI)- We have provided anti-crisis assistance to our winegrowers as well as other sectors. We will discuss this during the next session of the government. Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia said at the government session.
As the prime minister noted, the Ministry of Agriculture is expanding business support programs and adding grape processing to the list of sectors receiving support that will be an effective support package for winegrowers.
“We are considering the changes to agricultural programs. These changes aim at supporting local production; with this aim in mind, the Ministry of Agriculture is expanding business support programs to include new fields. These fields include hazelnut processing, tea production, foodstuff production; grape processing will also be added to the list. As you know, the grape harvest is approaching and we will discuss this during the next session of the government. We have provided anti-crisis assistance to our winegrowers, as well as other sectors, and we will discuss this during the next session of government. This will be an effective support package for our winegrowers,” Giorgi Gakharia said.
