Flights between Russia and Georgia may resume in November

TBILISI(BPI)-If the decision is made, it will take at least a month to restore air traffic between Russia and Georgia, Interfax reports citing informed source. According to the agency, the process requires several procedures such as the Russian government’s, the Ministry of Transport and the Russian Civil Aviation Service’s must take the order.

The source says it is unclear whether the decision would be made and when.

After that, airlines will have to review their schedules within 1-2 weeks, and allocate planes for new flights. Accordingly, if the decision is made today, the flights will be resumed in early November.

As early as August, Vice President of the Russian Tourism Industry Association Yuri Barzikin said that there were no preconditions for the resumption of air travel between Georgia and Russia.
