Gov’t imposes restrictions on public transport on May 3-12, intercity transport not to be limited

TBILISI(BPI)- The Interagency Coordination Council decided to restrict the public  transport movement from May 3 to 12. Giorgi Ghibradze, Head of the Task Force operating at the Interagency Coordination Council, stated at a briefing at the Government Administration that the intercity transport would not be limited on Easter days.

“May 4-11 was announced holiday in Georgia, which aims to reduce mobility. Now the Coordination Council decided to restrict the municipal transport movement from May 3 to 12. Besides, the vaccination process will continue following the National Vaccination Plan. Members of the Government of Georgia and the Parliament will get involved in the vaccination process for World Immunization Week. Strict control over the enforcement of restrictions imposed in the country by the relevant agencies continues.

Also, the Interagency Coordination Council will continue to monitor the existing epidemiological trends and make further decisions following the detailed analysis,” Giorgi Ghibradze said.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 304,272, including 287,029 people recovered, and 4,043 died. The daily test-positivity rate stands at 4,64%, while 4.03% in the past 14 days.
