Coffee sales dropped dramatically in Georgia

TBILISI(BPI)-Coffee sales have dramatically  dropped in the local market due to a reduction in coffee imports while the prices remain the same so far.

Coffee shortages that are predicted  due to the crop problem created  a difficult  situation  in the global coffee market.

Georgian coffee importers that supplied hotels and restaurants with coffee before the pandemic are facing  difficulties now.

A French coffee company employee in Georgia Emil Gogokhia says that the company switched to online sales.

In Emil Gogokhia’s words,  demand for coffee has decreased as hotels and restaurants are closed due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

The supermarkets are not facing any problems in terms of coffee supply.
