Anaklia Development Consortium shocked over Poti deep-see port building permit

TBILISI(BPI)- Anaklia Development Consortium, its partners and investors are shocked over the Information about issuance of permission for construction of a new deep-see port in Poti, – reads the statement of “Anaklia Development Consortium”.

“This information is shocking because the order was issued on May 2, while on 21 May, the government together with the consortium held negotiations with international financial institutions (EBRD, ADB, AIIB and OPIC) over the funding of the Anaklia Deep Sea Port and the government has reported nothing about this fact,” – the statement says.

According to the “Anaklia Development Consortium”, international partners have already made acute assessments regarding this fact and hiding it.

“Today, we got to know from media outlets that on May 2, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia issued permission for construction of a new deep-see, multi-functional port in Poti. “Anaklia Development Consortium”, its partners and investors are shocked over the Information, since the order was issued on May 2, while on 21 May, the government together with the consortium held negotiations with international financial institutions (EBRD, ADB, AIIB and OPIC) over the funding of the Anaklia Deep Sea Port and the government has reported nothing about this fact. Iinternational partners have already made acute assessments regarding this fact and hiding it. Consequently, “Anaklia Development Consortium” and the parties involved in the Anaklia Port project consider that if the government does not give instant and radical response to this fact, the Anaklia port project will be suspended,” the statement reads.
