TBILISI(BPI)- According to the statistics service, in 2016 a total of 98,300 people left Georgia, which is 2, 4% more than in 2015.
In 2016, the number of immigrants decreased by 2, 5% and amounted to 90 200 people, respectively, during the reporting period the negative migration balance totaled 8 100 people.
In 2016 55 a total of 555 men and 43,033 women left the country. It should also be noted that in comparison with 2015, the number of male emigrants decreased by 562, the number of women, on the contrary, increased by 2 885. In general, in 2016 the number of emigrants increased by 2 323 in comparison with 2015.
As for immigrants, in 2016 in total 54 355 men and 35 873 women arrived in the country. Compared to 2015, the number of male immigrants decreased by 2,337, women – by 8.
In general, the number of immigrants in 2016 decreased by 2 393compared to 2015.
The majority of emigrants – 14 534 – aged from 24 to 29, of whom 9 244 are men, 5 290 are women. With regard to immigrants, among them 12 767 are aged 24 – 29, 8 374 are men, 4 393- women.
In 2016, 3 592 Georgian citizens were deported from abroad.
